As reported, Rihanna departed from Def Jam last year to sign on to Universal’s new Roc Nation label. (...) Following the surprise debut of the diva’s new single ‘FourFiveSeconds‘ last night, it has become apparent her new deal.
Following a precedent set by Beyonce (whose Parkwood Entertainment company conjured up the entire ‘Beyonce’ project), Ms. Fenty has released the song on her newly created imprint – Westbury Road Entertainment: Like Parkwood for Bey, Westbury Road is the name of the area Rih grew up in back in Barbados.
If we’re thinking along the right lines, this essentially means she’s functioning independently (with her own team) and could plausibly take her distribution deal to another major label in the future.
Exciting if true though. She can do whatever she wants now, which means albums/singles whenever, other artists under her management. Could mean great things for her artistically.
You tried. She is indeed not the one who inspired Rih. It was a choice she made on her own and you KNOW that. She is on her eighth album afterall, it is time to move on. Beyonce was only mentioned for flaimbait and of course you couldn't help yourself.
