is weight becoming less of a problem for the music industry? seems like it tbh. Mainstream artists are becoming bigger and i think this reflects the society we are in. so its fair.
I remember when the max a pop girl could get in size and still be successful was like Beyonce/Shakira/J-Lo size bodies and even then they got a hard time from the press at times. Until they made curvyness cool. Now its more like the Meghans and Sam Smiths and i think they are making weight less of a problem and showing that even normal bodies are good if they can move, sing and write amazing stuff!
I still feel as if women are held to certain standards in their weights. Society is slowly accepting women that are bigger, but slowly. Last year really showed that having curves and big assests ( ) is ok. People really don't care about men's weight though. Kind of a double standard, but that's the way its always been.

this is deff true! I think men get an easier time with weight because woman are generally more open to date with bigger guys then men are with women (not fair but ya) not to stereotype but woman truly/mostly date for the personality and look for the good qualities in a guy no matter what size. guys we sort of look at the flaws first :/ I think this pressures girls to try and look modelesque all the time (it must be so hard being a girl..like imagine..everytime u step out your door u are being WATCHED and JUDGED ...like even at a lineup in a mcdonalds..its jut too much pressure for them
No. Fat girls are stuck singing songs about heartbreak and fat-empowerment.
If ever Adele or Meghan Trainor tries to pull off a "Raining Men" type song, they will be kicked out of the club.

I actually feel like girls will feel empowered by a Raining Men type song from them.
I think if they released an S&M sounding song then they might be paid dust or something unfortunatly
No. So frequently we see pictures of x popstar on this site and talk about how she's gaining weight and becoming chunky just because she's not as thin as a piece of paper. I'd say this proves it's still a huge issue. If all weights were accepted people would never have these conversations about popstars' weights.

Well what about Meghan's song "Title"? I think that's too much of a generalization
