Per a new press release, the movie - which saw Yaya DaCosta play the legendary singer - commanded a total audience of 4.5 million.
The feat makes the film the network's most watched telecast since last year's 'Flowers In The Attic'.
As Lifetime point out, the millions who tuned in to the spectacle (which centered on Houston's heated relationship with ex husband Bobby Brown) kept watching the additional block of programming dedicated to the star.
Combined, the network's "Whitney night" delivered total viewership of 11.8 million.
I thought the movie sucked it showed really nothing about her career and music
It was never meant to be Whitney's definitive biopic. Partly because when Angela Bassett wanted to the family to be involved: they turned it down because they had their "own interests in mind." So they made it into the a "love story" between Bobby and Whit.
