The iPhone really is the best phone you can get. Other phones may have better specs on paper but the performance of the iPhone is the same or better and the flawless syncing between other Apple devices is amazing. I'd only get an Android phone if it came with an X-Ray camera for seeing through clothes.

That's my thing, I've had Android and comparatively Apple bests it performance-wise. You don't know how many times I had to manually reset my Android devices because of glitches. I've rarely (rarely) had to reset any of my iPhones and I've had every iPhone model since iPhone 4...well except the 5c but that's another story.

Steve probably had no idea how big the phone was going to be at the time.
It was literally a prototype because they weren't even sure if it would sell to their market.

It didn't run third-party apps, no 3G (which was completely standard at the time) and the Camera was terrible, to the point it couldn't even film video.

That changed real quick.

iPhone changed the world. It introduced the concept of modern-day smartphone and influenced a plethora of 2010s devices. I am fittingly typing this on an iPhone. Thank you Steve, Phil, Jony and the whole team who brought this beautiful device into the world.
