Despite heavy promo and a big campaign, Tekken 7 seems to be a non event, especially considering that it's coming out in Japan's arcades in a month. It's also been getting negative press for its characters and its non-evolving gameplay and art style compared to the previous 3 games. Why is the series struggling compared to rival series?

The hype is as dead as SF's big movie return a couple years ago.

Kinda, yeah. I played a lot of Tekken when I was younger (Xiaoyu is flawless) but I actually had no idea a new one was coming out until I saw this thread. Hope it turns out good tho.
