I don't think you have to ask. Even I wasn't really looking for Nicki until she released Lookin' Ass. It's like she started taking music more seriously. The Pinkprint is her best album.

I think she wanted to collab with her for a while but was waiting for the right moment. Flawless came and then she returned the favor.

Because that Nicki looked like a joke and wouldn't be taken seriously

I think Beyonce discovered a different side to herself with the releasing of her last album. She wasn't doing records like the flawless remix and 7-11 much before her latest era. I don't think Beyonce was opposed to working with Nicki, but it wasn't needed for her previous era of music. Beyonce eventually wanted to work with a powerful MC that was a woman and Nicki was her choice.

basically (but dont act like gagas all superior sis). working with gaga hurt bey so she didnt wanna work with nicki at that time and hurt herself again.
