I just got into a huge blowout with a member of my family because she says that the words ******* and bitch are the same. Both negative insults with equally detrimental connotations. This came up because I called my sister a bitch(I might add that 95% of the time it is bitch in the way that us gays do and not the sharp bitch that is slung at so many women for being unyielding and self-assured). I disagree --vehemently-- and told her if she ever called me a ******* I would show her a ****ing bitch.
My question to you is are they the same? Do they have equally negative connotations?
Help me prove my point to this bitch plz.

it's completely ok/makes sense for a woman to be offended by the word "bitch" but i think it's starting to become a general term used by everyone that generally describes a person being rude so I don't think it has the same weight it used to have. "******" is a definite no no at this point. it's still a very highly used term against gay people with gay bashing still being a very common thing & being gay actually being illegal in a lot of the world.

idk. bitch is offensive if you're using it in the context of a woman defending herself or just being assertive but it's hard for me to find anyone finding it offensive in any other context.

There literally shouldn't be debate over this. Just think for 5 seconds about the origins, purpose and usage of both and you'll realize they are two sides of the same coin.

I didn't know what the censored word was before entering the thread () but I say "bitch" to my male friends constantly, lol. I would never say it to a female...I don't want a death wish.
