Edit: The chart is from 2013, I just found the 2014 analysis, and Android developers make even less from Android apps.
Quote:
Leader in the number of downloads of all platforms is clearly a Google application store with a profit of $ 1.2 billion downloads per year. The number of downloads of Windows Phone Store several times less , while the income from them is $0.95 billion. It turns out that the average developer earns about $ 0.23 for one download from the Windows Phone Store ( Android- profit developer for one download its application is $0.04) .

Apple profits =
$6.4B from app downloads with
12% worldwide market share
Google profits =
$1.2B from app downloads with
70% worldwide market share
Microsoft profits =
$950M from app downloads with
3% worldwide market share
One app download in Apple =
24 cents profit to developer.
One app download in Windows =
23 cents profit to developer.
One app download in Android =
4 cents profit to developer.
No developers can make money off Android anymore,

It's true since, every Android user wants to use all the apps out there without having to pay a single dime. Windows Users are very loyal and dedicated to our own little niche ecosystem, that we are so nice to donate money to developers working hard to maintain the life of our platform. This is one of the prime case where market share analysis is obsolete.
