Elliot said he didn't get her animation & voice until Monster
Quote:
A lot of people like you [Elliot Wilson-hip hop journalist] only accepted it because Kanye & Jay was on it. Because if I was on it by myself y'all wouldn't have gave me my props at that time either. no no because there's so much dickriding in hip hop it's like y'all like who ya'll like and if someones on a song with them or if they give that person props it's like oh their cool now

While writing super bass I didn't even know wtf top 40 was.....Because of social media fans can't enjoy music anymore because their so busy seeing what's charting.......psychologically it makes them like it more or less..it's sickening
So true
+ she talks about almost signing a major deal w/ Warner Bro & not knowing what top 40 was while writing Pink Friday
She did an interview during TPP era saying she covered all her bases regarding her pop hip pop and r&b fans though??? but yes she's right about the Kanye and Jay thing
I don't see the point of bringing that up though. It's her most acclaimed verse and she's reaped the benefits and now she's questioning fans of the song.
I don't understand she strategically chose features with various pop, urban and r&b artists to gain access to new audiences while building her career. Alot of people bought her features more than any single she released. This is helped her out tremendously. She knows how this game goes...why is she acting brand new? Let me listen to this interview.
Goodbye at her saying she didn't know what top 40 was.
Also I don't agree with her, everybody lost their **** over itty bitty piggy, her monster verse just got a lot more love because 1. more ppl heard it and 2. she literally bodied Jay and Kanye which is not something most ppl would do when their still brand new.
....fans can't enjoy social media anymore because they're so busy seeing what's charting.......psychologically it makes them like it more or less..it's sickening
She just.... gets it. Everything she's been saying in all of these interviews are true and it's making me like her more and more.
Goodbye at her saying she didn't know what top 40 was.
I didn't even know what Top 40 was until I started lurking ATRL in late 2011. I doubt a lot of people know who are actually in the industry, making the music.
