The software giant has started emailing out invites to members of the press today, inviting them to what is described as "the next chapter." The Verge detailed Microsoft’s plans for its January event recently, noting that the company would mainly discuss consumer-focused features. Microsoft is expected to further detail its touch interface dubbed Continuum, alongside its plans for tablets and phones running Windows 10.

Y'all hate on Windows 8 too much. Well, Windows 8 kind of deserves it, but Windows 8.1 is completely fine and I was nervous about getting it because I wasn't sure how I'd react to the big changes, but I actually love it and enjoy going to a big page of apps. It actually makes things easier for me. Windows 10 is fine but they're getting rid of that (for the most part) so I don't have a big interest.

You can set it to default to the desktop with the new start menu, or to the metro start screen, so they're not really getting rid of it, just making it more adaptable to whichever device it's on, which is what they should have done with 8.
Do we know the specifications required to run this thing? My PC is a lil bit above average and I want to know if I should upgrade if the requirements are the same as 8.
