No, this has been one of the weakest years we've had in cinema for a while.

Good year for Disney, though.

It feels a bit weak compared to most years, imo.

Don't use the top grossing films list - most of them are utter trash (see Transformers). Use Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes instead. There are some huge gems out there, like Gone Girl, Birdman, Interstellar, The Theory of Everything, The Imitation Game, etc.

Gone Girl is trash.

I haven't seen Birdman yet, but it's been one of my most anticipated all year. Can't wait to see it!

I think so. Atleast when it comes to action movies!

Marvel slayage though (I'm a Marvel sucker so I liked it)

It feels weaker compared to recent years but overall it still was a good year.

It wasn't a good year for movies and not for music either

I thought it was a good year, but that may just be because I was a lot more attentive to film this year than I have been in the past.

Yeah!

Nightcrawler, John Wick, Gone Girl, Boyhood, and Interstellar exist so hell yeah.
