I just posted a bear thread, but I went to my other forum and saw this story on the front page

It was a warm fall day near Sand Stone when Brandon Johnson, a hunter since he could walk, helped his camp track a black bear that his friend shot. It was midnight, and low moonlight and dense forest made it difficult to track.
Suddenly the 525 pound bear charged Johnson, briefly knocking him unconscious. Brandon's left arm was shattered -- now a chew toy for the wounded bear. "One tooth of the bear just broke the bone right in half," he said. In his right hand Johnson held a five-inch knife, his only defense.
It worked. The bear backed off and soon walked away, but minutes later it came back. The bear left a second time while Johnson screamed for help from his fiancé and friends scattered in the woods. But, for a third time, the nightmare returned.
Johnson said he shoved his hand into the bears open mouth stabbing it throat. The bear grabbed onto to Johnson's leg, picked him up, slammed him to the ground, and walked away. Friends found the carcass the next day, 50 feet from where the attack occurred. He escaped certain death by slaying the bear with a knife.
Usually when I browse the internet for bears it's for bears of a different variety.
do you live in Alaska or something? It's a lot easier to hunt a black bear than a grizzly here, black bears are same as deer you can get a couple each year or more. Where grizzlies it's LEH and it's a lucky opportunity and often costly.

Nah, I meant Polar Bears. They're my favourite animal is all.
Nah, I have plenty of time to see them in the wild. The ice isn't melting as Global Warming is a myth.
