So I won an iPad Air 128GB so I basically stopped using my iPad 1 because Apps would crash every 5 seconds and it was annoying as hell

My housemate smashed my iPad Air (god knows how) when she was picking things up so I had to go back to my iPad 1. It was flat as, but I did a full recharge that took all day, but so far it's been over a week and it's still at 30% I've been watching BBC iPlayer and playing music, as well as using Spotify and Safari, and it's just amazing.

My housemate also bought the Lumia 530 and she gets 4 days on average out of it, and she's on Facebook or Texting all the time.


Do you know any devices that have incredible battery life?

iPhone 6+

The Droid Razr Maxx has a battery of 3300 mAH, over double that of the iPhone 5

Amd more than the iPhone 6 (Plus)

My Note 4 battery is pretty good plus you can swap it out if you ever need to

I've heard the difference between the 6 and the 6+ is pretty big. People at work who have a 6+ leave their screens on while eating lunch or something, because they don't have to worry about battery.


Sometimes I've noticed that even devices with huge batteries can run out much quicker due to software optimisation and how well the device is efficient with Energy etc.

My Note 2 had a bigger battery, but the iPhone 5s still gives me more power. My friend has the Note 3 though and he gets way more out of it than I get out of the N2 and the 5s.

Ahaha. I'm not looking to upgrade just yet, but my 5s is always full and I just need one bigger than 64GB. I hate iOS 8 so I'm trying to avoid it Might go with a Lumia.

She will. She's paying the $300 for Apple to fix it I was just more intrigued that my iPad 1 manages to last more than a week of casual usage, yet I get excited when my Air lasted more than 2 days.

Also, my apps on the iPad 1 have stopped crashing now. i've been able to load Safari really easily yet I remember it crashing all the time? Messy aha.

Smart battery usage helps more than a big battery. Keep the screen dimmed (as low as it can go while you can still read the screen). Make sure your WiFi and Bluetooth radios are turned off if you're not using them. Make sure email is set to manual. If you need it to fetch, try holding off to like an hour instead of more frequent intervals. If you find yourself in a low coverage area (and you're not planning on making or receiving any important calls) turn on airplane mode!

Get an Apple something. I mean with everything else the phones offer even a 2 hour battery would be worth it. There's an apple on the back of every device.

The lumia line is awesome phones if you'd be willing to be on windows.. Which honestly isn't at all a big deal because you already have your iPad to download the apps windows won't have. Apart from the ****** app market for windows, its a far superior mobile OS than iOS and android. Is there any lumia you have in mind already? Raw battery information doesnt mean anything because the OS is optimized differently across the board.

Also from what I've heard battery saving apps do help by doing things in the post above this automatically

I have the BlackBerry Passport and this thing reaches 40% by night with extremely heavy usage. On days where I have nothing important to do and just text I'd still have 60% by night.

Edit: by night I mean from 6am to 8pm

Oh yes I love the battery life! It's the main reason I waited on the 6+ rather than the 6! I use it heavily from 7:30am till when I recharge (before going to bed) & it'll be at like 38% ! I had to charge my iPhone 5 three times to get it through the day

Definitely not the 5s. Sometimes I can literally watch my battery percentage go down in a matter of seconds.

Phonearena says the Galaxy Note 4 is really good with battery life and has that special snapdragon turbo charging that gets you like 6 hours in 30 mins or something like that.

Lumias are pretty good with battery life.

The 5s gets me two days worth. But I didn't upgrade to ios8. I learnt my mistake king from iOS 5 to iOS 6 with the 4S.
