Despite her youth, Malala Yousafzay has already fought for several years for the right of girls to education, and has shown by example that children and young people, too, can contribute to improving their own situations. This she has done under the most dangerous circumstances. Through her heroic struggle she has become a leading spokesperson for girls' rights to education.

Never heard of them before, perhaps they deserve it, but the Peace Prize is a total joke.

Obama gets the Peace Prize after being elected just because he isn't a white guy, then promptly sends 34,000 troops to Afghanistan, reneges on his promise to shut down Guantanamo and authorizes expansion of drone strikes which have by now killed thousands of innocent civilians.

Absolutely no respect for the people who award this prize.

I'm kind of neutral on Malala. She's tremendously brave for the work she has continued after her horrific episode but there's a sense that she's more about that than anything else. Some of her speeches have revealed her shallow understanding of/narrow insight into pertinent issues.

Not taking away from the fact that Malala is an amazing person and she stood up for what was right but now she is just being used by the western media (American Media) to in infiltrate their thoughts and policies in these smaller developing nations.

People need to understand that development model of one nation cannot act as a blueprint for another

FYI Pakistanis don't know who she is. She doesn't get much media attention there since she's making these speeches abroad. She's a UK celebrity now.
