Personally speaking: I have jumped a subway turnstile before too, and was caught, but was only forced to go back and pay. This was at Time Square

Yeah I remember seeing this video on the news 2 weeks ago.
It's so weird I didn't hear this talked about once on CNN.
Cops in general are CONSTANTLY over stepping their bounds.

All these things happening when people resist arrest... I think there is a lesson to be learnt here.

Yet it's illegal to film police....

That's it? I got a ticket for jumping a turnstile and then one for skipping cars in the train.

I had to stand there for like 30 minutes each time and you just had to pay for the fare.

yep. I was chased down because I was already almost to the train, but the police officer grabbed me and made me go back and swipe my card.

idk if it has to do with race for me. Maybe the officer was just exhausted from running down that long ass tunnel to the 7 train

You were chased and only had to pay the fare? It would have been less exhausting to write you the ticket at the spot he stopped you.

Why would I get a ticket for not paying something that costs less than my Starbucks muffin

edit: and it's not like I didn't suffer I missed my train and was late by 10 minutes to my interview

Maybe he shouldn't have resisted arrest? Cops have to do their jobs.

I'm dark, I got stopped at the Church Ave F train so it's not a bad area and no, I don't dress ghetto.

Oh please! I stood there for over 30 minutes so they could do a background check and write the ticket with my info on it and then I paid a $300 fine.

If they did that to me, I would have cussed them out I was already snippy with them for holding me up for an important interview
$300 That's brutal. You should have fought it in court. No way should the multiplier for jumping the turnstile be 100x the actual fare

You can lie on the ground unconscious and still called out for resisting arrest

So resisting arrest for failing to pay a trivial amount of money warrants being beaten over the head by sticks until you bleed?

This was just horrible.

But is this thread just being ignore and not pages long since the Cop is not White.

I did go to court. I even had an unlimited card, but didn't want wait for the time limit because I was late for my doctors appointment. I told a lawyer I dated about what happened years later and he told me that I technically already paid for the rides so I should have been let go.

I also got a ticket last year for moving to the next car while the train was moving.
