I often see a lot of people use bottom as an insult here like "such a bottom". Why is top never used in a negative context like bottom is?

In general, the word bottom is portrayed as showing passiveness, which gives the one who's receiving that message a sense of being dominated, whereas top portrays all the contrary. It's common sense.

Bottom is not an insult tho. People who "insult" others by calling them bottoms only expose their own insecurity with their sexuality.

It's because most of us are bottoms so it's a tongue-in-cheek thing.

As a top, I love bottoms and worship them and I don't see that word as an insult, but a compliment

Basically. Bottom is seen as feminine or 'the woman' which for some reason is seen as demeaning.

This. Just like being gay is seen by homophobes as being weak and wrong they are basically insulting the fact a man has feminine traits and desires. It goes deeper but that is the gist of it.

I think bottom guys are extremly strong. It's just how you perceive it... I don't care tbh about this top/bottom... The only thing that matter is "equality" everyone has personal power... Stop that nonsense top has power over bottom. Being a bottom is to be powerful...
