Uh, that's not quite what he said. He and Niall were asked a series of question in an interview as part of a game where they had to flash signs that said "yes" or "no". He responded to the question "ever been in love?" with a "no".

Which makes sense, he's all of like 20 and hasn't had a relationship last more than a few months. The Examiner is so transparent and desperate.

I've had lots of bfs I've loved one or two but I was never in love with them.

Before you know who you are in a relationship, you have to know who you are by yourself. Most people in their late teens/early 20s are still figuring that out. You're constantly changing and you're a completely different person to the person you were only 6 months ago.

For most people, your first few "relationships" aren't even relationships at all. I'm talking about the ones that last less than 5 months. They're just stepping stones in figuring out who you are.
