The loyal dog that has waited in vain every day for more than a year outside Russian hospital for the beloved owner who will never return

Whilst he was staying on the ward, Masha was his only visitor. At night she returned to their home to guard it against intruders, before returning to the hospital in the morning.

Nurse Alla Vorontsova said a family recently tried to adopt Masha. She was taken to their home on a Friday evening, but was back at the hospital by 3am the following day.
This headlines reminds me of that Richard Gere film, Hachi: A Dog's Tale, which is similar, with what both dogs are doing.
That movie is based on a true story of my favorite breed of dog, the Akita. The dog's name was Hachiko and he visited his master's grave every day for 7 years.
A similar thing happened in my family. The new dog we got ran away and later that day somebody in my family had to go to the hospital and the dog ended up going through the main doors into the lobby of the hospital. And the hospital wasn't even close to the house.
In the city where I was born in Russia (Tolyatti) there is a dog monument. So his owner died in a biker crash in some race in 90's, and this dog had been waiting for his owner for days on the street without eating. Eventually the dog died, and now there is a monument
Edit: it was a car crash that happened right there on the highway, the dog was in the car, 2 people died in the hospital, but he survived, then he would stay on the highway permanently, people noticed him, and he became a TV star, but then he died after some time at the same place as his owner https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Памятник_преданности
