Have you ever went on a trip to another country with one of your classes? (I guess going to another state works for the US brethren) What subject or what reason? Share your story

In 10th grade the whole grade went with bus from Norway to Germany (boat) to Poland and back to Germany and through Sweden to get back to Norway. It was to learn about WW2 and the holocaust etc. It's a pretty common thing here. It was a very emotional trip, at least at the end but it also was fun and we learned a lot!

Last week I was in Rome with just my class (we're the same group all the time at school here, except for in languages) because it's a lot of interesting things to see and learn there as we study art and architecture at school. It was really amazing to see it all, and we also got (almost) a full day of shopping We lived in a kind of messy area though, first day we saw a guy throwing a bottle at someone on the street and there were broken bottles and glass in the streets everywhere

Might go to Paris with french class next year as well, I hope we get to go there

yes, two exchanges this year with college. i went to berlin for my german class, and cáceres in spain for my spanish class.

Berlin is great! I guess most trips abroad are because of learning a language.

Yes. Finland & Sweden, but there was nothing remarkable about them. 8)

i love berlin, it's my favourite city. and it was the first time i'd been back to germany since moving to england 13 years ago. but yeah, that tends to be why people go abroad, although my college also does trips to new york for business students, and there's trips to places like poland, sweden, finland, slovenia and iceland, that are open to anyone.

I've been close to going three times, once skiing in Austria but I was the only person in my whole year who was interested. Then a tourist trip to Spain but I fell out with the teacher so that never happened and then to Turkey with my college but sharing a room with other boys in a majority homophobic country was kinda off-putting.

France (day trip to a concentration camp), Italy (middle school graduation trip) and Austria (ski trip). I'm from Germany.

I've been to Austria and France with school. The former I visited due to a ski trip and the latter I've already been to twice, actually; firstly with our French exchange program and secondly as a graduation trip. There's also an exchange with the US that I would have loved to participate in, however it was to last three whole weeks, which I thought was way too long; the exchange with France for instance only spanned one week, and that already seemed rather long to me! Beyond that, it was also very expensive.

Nope. There have been some opportunities to go to Europe before but you had to sign up for stuff or be in a certain class and I wasn't really interested overall so I never did it.

I think the only big field trip I went on where we went somewhere a tad far was to St. Petersburg, Florida. It was maybe a 90 minute drive and we all went on a bus in the morning and then came back at around 6pm. Stayed there for most of the day.

This year we're going to Greece, which makes more sense, since we study Ancient Greek and Greek literature.
