Gays: do you have good friendships with straight men?
Just wondering.
I don't live openly as gay as a Christian, but my two best friends are straight guys, know it's something I'm working through, and unless we're talking about that they don't treat me any differently. They didn't judge me when I was still a Gaga stan (), they don't judge me for liking people like Britney and Christina, or for religiously quoting movies like Mean Girls. (I mean, they'll roll their eyes or make jokes, but only in the most loving way.)
I didn't in high school, when being called gay or being friends with someone who was frequently called gay was like the worst thing that could happen to you.
Now I do. We have a lot of banter about it and they crack really funny gay jokes at me. I think as adults, they're more secure in their own sexualities. They have girlfriends who they have regular sex with, so there's no insecurity about anyone thinking they're gay. Plus they love doing party drugs like MDMA and coke, so they go gay clubbing a lot to buy it (and one straight friend to sell it ) so it's completely different as an adult.
I don't really have male friends at all. Most of my friends are female (about 80%) and 95% of them are straight (although I do have a few lesbian friends and a trans one who would now count as a male friend).
So yes I have a better relationship with my straight friends. I don't know a single gay male though so maybe my opinion isn't valid
I have a quite a few some guys don't mind talking to me, others look at me like trash.
I have a bad habit of flirting with like everyone and that tends to put off some guys and even girls
I honestly get along better with my straight friends than I do with my sole gay friend.
I don't know, maybe it's just because I'm not one dimensional about what I can talk about
My two closest guy friends are straight, and we do hang out and stuff but I don't enjoy it as much as hanging out with my girl friends. The topics they talk about are so lame + they don't know I'm gay so it's even lamer.
I'd say 60% of my friends are straight guys. And I prefer it that way. I can't stand most gays unless Im dating them and I can't spend too long around girls

And yes, I find it easier to talk to straight guys than gay guys.
