The man in the 8-ball jacket seen slapping a belligerent woman on the F train in an online video that went viral had all charges against him dropped Monday afternoon after authorities determined he was acting in self-defense, his lawyer told The Post.
Jorge Pena spent four nights in jail after the brawl, which was widely viewed after footage was posted to YouTube, before making his $1,000 bail early Tuesday.
A law enforcement source confirmed that all the charges against Pena were dismissed.
Pena’s lawyer, Cary London, said he thinks the charges were thrown out because the woman in the video appeared to be the aggressor.
“This time the system worked,” London said.
“Thank God for smartphones because the DA’s office was able to have all of the information in front of them at an early stage to show that our client did nothing wrong and acted in self-defense.”
It's tiring seeing "Worldstar!!!!11!" being the most people have to contribute to situations like this, but I'm glad the charges were dropped since it's obvious he didn't smack her unprovoked.
She pressed charges against him??
Good thing there was video because he would lose the case since it's a man hitting a woman
Not shocked. Like I said in the original video thread, girls like that believe in their head that guys are not suppose to touch them under any circumstances, even self defense. In that girl head she probably thought she could beat him until he was blue in the face, and their would be no consequences since she is a woman. But as soon as he thunder slap her, she thought the law would be on her side.
Good. Let this be a lesson to any woman OR man who thinks it's okay to lay their hands on another human being. If you start it, you better be prepared to finish it, whether you're a male or a "helpless innocent" female.
His lawyer says he's pressing charges against her in his behalf so I hope they win.
