Veteran's attempt to track down family of man he killed
Quote:
A war veteran from Derbyshire, who fought in the Falklands, believes he could be close to tracking down the family of an Argentinian soldier he killed during the conflict.
Gordon Hoggan, 55, who lives in Spondon, suffered years of depression after the incident, at the Battle of Mount Tumbledown, in 1982.
"I had visions of this Argentinian in my head and it was like, if I wakened up, it was like pausing a video and when I woke up and when I calmed down again and shut my eyes it was like turning a video back on and just going back to the same situation."
" I'd just like to give the helmet back. I don't know how his family will feel about it, maybe put a bit of closure for them as well"
Earlier this year, Gordon appealed for help to track down the soldier's family.
He's since been contacted by an Argentinian veteran, now an author in the US, who believes he can help.
