Androgyny is the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics. Sexual ambiguity may be found in fashion, gender identity, sexual identity, or sexual lifestyle.
Androgynous acts have been around since the 60's and a great deal of them are some of my favorite acts of all time (La Roux and Janelle Monae being two that I have been stanning for) but these acts don't really fit into the poll, as their entire career is based around it. Some do it because they like the look, others to make a social point, and others to try and remove and criticism that comes along with gender roles.
All of this being said, with the release of Lorde's new video, I had a desire to gauge what the general consensus was on how well these two wonderful acts pulled off a one-time androgynous look. I, in all honesty, think that in both of these videos they looked the best they ever had, and would not be opposed if they used it more often.
