Anyway, basically why should gay couples be allowed to adopt? In all honesty I feel that two gay men can't provide for a young girl and she needs a mother figure to turn to and ask questions to when she reaches a certain age. Also, if they have a son his life would probably be hard because he'd get bullied for having gay parents and they also might influence him.

So realistically speaking wouldn't it be kinder for gay couples not to have children?

I think it's slightly different for lesbians as they can still have maternal instincts and are less looked down upon, so the child's life would be a bit easier.

Mess at the double standards. Not every gay couple is like the shallow gays on atrl. Just look at David Burtka and NPH. The better question is why shouldn't they be allowed to adopt? Would you rather a child sit in an orphanage with no parents? A loving gay home is better than no home.

Well yes that's true, but I also feel as if single parents maybe shouldn't be allowed to adopt either. If it happens outwith their control then that's a tragedy and I understand things must still go on, but if given the choice why shouldn't a child be put with a man and woman?

It opens a child's life to bullying just because of their parents and can have severe psychological repercussions in the future for them, so I personally disagree with it.

They shouldnt, children should go abused or without parents at all before they have the privilege to have any caretakers even if its two men or two women. Thats the better viewpoint right?

I know OP is just trolling but gender roles are dumb and pointless. To say that a boy needs a father to learn how to be a man or a girl needs a mother to learn how to be a woman doesn't make sense because there isn't one right way to act like a gender.

Not every mother is going to be motherly. There are probably some straight fathers who are better "mothers" to their daughters. You can't say gays shouldn't adopt based on an idea of what a mother is. Not to mention sometimes mothers are not around for whatever reason, should that child be given up to child services and brought to a family with a clear mother figure?

Now for the funniest part: "gay parents ... might influence him" This would mean that straight parents would influence their kids, meaning no gay people would exist.

Umm, it's just my opinion that's all. And I don't know why I would deserve abuse for it . I said it in a non-offensive manner.

-Having two loving figures is way more important than having a masculine and feminine figure. Children will find their place in the masculinity/feminity realm because that extends far outside of the family home. Also, why is it so important for a certain gender to fall under that category anyway? Millions and millions of children are children of single parents and they grow up perfectly fine.
-Saying gays shouldn't be able to adopt because society will make fun of them is like saying black people shouldn't adopt because society will make fun of a white kid for having black parents. It's giving into the prejudice side.

What severe psychological repercussions are you referring to? Because recent psychological studies indicate there is no trauma or adverse effects on children of gay parents. Some studies have even indicated they tend to perform better academically than children of straight parents.
