Voting in the United States is for those ages 18+. People who have been to prison are not allowed to vote. In some states, you have to have a home/residence (to have a Voter ID card) so that disenfranchises homeless voters.
But do you think that people 80+ should be allowed the vote? While they tend to be the most consistent voters (because they have the most time on their retired hands), they also have the least to vote for. Voting affects the future, and let's face it, they don't have that long of a future left. Also, they don't really have a clear grasp on what matters in the modern age, and many also suffer from dementia, alzheimer's, etc.
So, what do you think? Should the U.S. put an age limit on voting, and ban people who are just years out from dying from being allowed to vote?
Btw, I love old people like my grandparents and Cher, but sometimes, they are not the people you want deciding on issues that matter for the next 100 years.
