Music insiders are recently talking about the fact that K-Pop superstar and 2NE1's leader CL, who recently joined Scooter' Brown's label for her american debut, could be working on a collab with her now label-mate Ariana Grande at the moment.
The collab of the century is coming, Queen CL is coming for the title of first asian woman to break into the western market.
I don't get why they're still trying to make k-pop happen in America.
She's fluent in English and transferring into a western style. It's not like she's trying to pull a Gangnam Style.
CL has been planning this US debut for a while. Originally she was going over to the US with 2NE1, but I think YG (her Korean company) made the right decision to send her over as a solo act.
She appeared on Will.i.am's album Willpower recently (the song's not great, but you can see she's not some Korean wannabe with a heavy accent. She actually has potential to do well).
Okay I mean, in Italy CL is the name of this sort of religious mafia, it's creepy if you ask
But what I'm trying to say is, it's okay if she does pop... but if they're trying to bring that uninspired k-pop that ALWAYS sounds the same to the Western world, they're not going far.

Yeah it's about time too. She's such a great performer, much better than most pop artists now. I think people are afraid already I hope she smashes
