They are spending taxpayer money to rescue foreign boat people who are trying to illegally enter the country? Screw that. Save the money, spend it on education or defence or something, I say.

They are foreigners breaking the law, trying to damage Italy, and they are not even Italians, nor are they even in Italy. The country will save €114,000,000 per year. Italy has no obligation to save foreign criminals. It will just encourage more of these aliens to try to break into the country if they know they will be perfectly safe.

I agree. Africa and the Middle East need to stop seeing Europe as somewhere they can freely walk into expecting benefits and social handouts. Sort out your own ****y countries and maybe you won't have to come begging at Western doorsteps.

It's not even worth replying to you. They're people and if you went through something that's a tenth of what they've been through you would understand. Talk about lack of empathy in this thread.

But the more they come the higher friction they'll cause. It'll end up hurting them in the end. Especially euro countries in a not so great economic situation. Like Spain.

I agree. I mean, it's sad that these people want out and are going to these lengths to leave their country, but why should Italy have to pay for it? I'm sorry, I just don't see it.
