Swift is one of three superstars—along with RCA’s Justin Timberlake and Columbia’s Beyoncé—who are just one album from the ends of their deals. But whether these acts re-up or take their talents elsewhere—and there will be no shortage of bidders for their services as recording artists—their next deals are likely to be less gigantic than their present ones, simply because elephant-bucks deals can no longer be justified economically. While the $15-20m range wasn’t uncommon in the past for major acts, the ceiling now seems to be $10m tops.

Bey doesn't really mesh with Columbia like that anymore. She basically told them to **** off when they offered a promotional campaign for BEYONCE. Won't be surprised if her next release is a greatest hits to fulfill the contract and then she signs w/ Roc Nation or just go full on indie w/ Parkwood.

I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor stays. She basically runs that label, right? And I'm sure she doesn't have any trouble with them and clearly she has consistently made all of the right moves with them behind her.

I don't see her signing with Roc Nation, she'll do her own thing with Parkwood if anything.

I think Beyonce will leave Columbia.

They did her so wrong with 4 and she probably dosent trust them anymore. She clearly showed that she dosent need Columbia to make a successful album

Nelly Furtado as well, not like it matters but yeah. Anyway I'm curious what JT will do the most, he doesn't really seem to enjoy the business anymore apart from doing massive tours. Beyonce and Taylor Swift won't be backing out of this business for a long while.

Are those Live Nation 360 deals generally considered good options? Shakira and Madonna both have pretty big ones iirc. I feel like they make sense since Taylor/JT/Bey are also making a killing on tour.

Although I really can't picture Taylor leaving Big Machine. They've been very good to her, and she will inevitably put out more country albums in the future anyways.
