Well if you have male genitals I think you're a male and if you have female genitals I think you're a female. If you like the same gender you're homosexual, if you like the opposite gender you're heterosexual and if you don't mind then your bisexual. Everything else is really unnecessary and made up by people to be unique.

Not at all. I was born a male yet I consider myself a female and I don't plan on getting a sex change so... I'd classify myself as either gender fluid or transgender so no these aren't made up to feel unique. People actually are certain sub-genders and such.

Yes, there is a biological sex (although we put way too much focus on them) - you are born with a specific set of genitals. However, those genitals do not decide your gender. You can be a woman with a penis and a man with a vagina, or you may not identify with either gender, thus making you non-binary.

The fact that people have such a difficult time grasping this... Especially homosexuals. You were born homosexual, right? So why is it so difficult for you to believe that someone can be born a woman but with "male" genitalia?

Yeah but I never got that. To me gender is what your body was born as, and then you get people who disagree with societal norms of their gender who consider themselves transgender. You're born with a gender, and to me disagreeing with it is nothing more than reinforcing what is expected of each gender.

Those are objective terms for your biology. You can only identify as a gender (man/woman/genderqueer/etc.). Even if you get sex reassignment surgery a male will still have XY chromosomes and a female will still have XX chromosomes. I wish people would stop thinking that having a feminine identity is attached to having a vagina. These are CULTURAL markers; not biological ones. What is feminine/masculine varies around the world and across time.

I'm sure technology in the future will allow you to change your sex but you can't right now. Sorry.

1. People may be born biologically male or female, but that doesn't make them male/female. They can be born with a different gender identity.
2. Bisexuality, by definition, means you are attracted to more than one gender. Pansexuality however means you are attracted to people, regardless of gender. Bisexuals may only be attracted to cisgendered males/females, whereas pansexuals may not. However, it's up to those people to decide what suits them.
3. It seems rather unlikely that people would choose to be unique by claiming themselves to be severely marginalized social groups in society.

So basically you think people are looking to be different by "choosing" to be identified by labels that generally come with the reactions like: "that doesn't exist", "you're supposed to be a boy, that is what you were born as" or even "you need to stop playing with cars, girls play with dolls". That is SO offensive to anyone who has to go through that on a daily basis, that you're actually suggesting they're choosing to be different by being ostracized for who they are.

It's amazing how even LGBT people who are always at risk of prejudice continue to perpetuate prejudice against other groups that may not be as prominent or well-understood. It's not up to you to decide what people should and shouldn't identify as. If it's really that hard for you to understand, here's the general idea: take people for face value. Let THEM tell you what they are; it's not up to you to decide what other people should be.
