Police arrested a man in Halifax today and recovered a firearm on a nearby municipal bus after receiving a report of a man carrying what appeared to be a gun wrapped in fabric in the city's downtown.

The man allegedly left the gun on the bus and walked down a nearby street, where he was arrested minutes later without incident.
