I feel badly for her -- that people were so ruthless towards her appearance that she had to release a statement about this. I can understand why people were shocked by her appearance, but it probably says more about us as a society that women in the entertainment industry feel compelled to do that much plastic surgery to themselves in an attempt to stay relevant.

Who is she trying to fool? She DEFINITELY had work done.

Human beings are attracted to a certain look, in general. When studio bosses put people who come close to that look on the movie screen, human beings spend money to view it. If you are not close to that look, then it's less likely you'll be put on the movie screen. Some actresses feel that they don't come close to that look but they're so desperate to be put on the movie screen that they'll go down the route of plastic surgery in the hope of achieving it.

The human species doesn't have to apologise for being attracted to a certain look. It can't actually help how it feels.

If a woman feels that she can't achieve inner peace without being on the movie screen, then that's pretty sad. Renee obviously decided plastic surgery was worth it, just to get on the movie screen. But I can't see it giving her any inner peace in the long run.

I never suggested for a second that she owed anybody anything. You're correct - she doesn't owe anything to anyone.

However this is a discussion about it, so you better be prepared to see lots of opinions about it since that's what a discussion is.

She's the one that's so desperate to be in the public eye and get the public's approval.

Renee had an iconic look, I don't think how she looked effected her ability to book a role. She's a very successful actress, and it sounds like she took a break from the industry, that's why we haven't seen much from her in a while. If anything, this new look might effect her career.

If she did get plastic surgery, that doesn't mean she did it for the public approval. Maybe she did it for herself, to feel more comfortable in her own skin. Even if she did get plastic surgery because of public criticism, it still boils down to her doing it to feel more comfortable in her own skin, so I don't see why you're calling her desperate, it's her body.

People should leave her alone, it's no one's business but her own. How would you like someone criticizing your looks?

But she looks diff mostly bcz of bleached unpluged eyebrows,bad oily make up and dry lips,and bcz of weird faces she is making.....idt she had lot of/major work done

It also is 'human nature' to want to continue being successful in whatever milieu you're prospering in and if that's sad then so is being attracted -as you say- to one narrow vision of beauty
