What are jobs/careers that should have higher salaries? Post the current average salary, and then how much you think they should make each year? You can also discuss jobs that deserve LOWER salaries. I'm sure that some of you have strong opinions on this topic.
I personally think that teachers/professors deserve much higher salaries. There are a lot of intelligent, hard working people in teaching jobs, and they do a lot of work in order to successfully educate often ungrateful students. They make around 40,000-50,000 USD a year, but honestly, their salaries should be 80,000-100,000 at least. In addition, the low salary makes many bright young people steer away from education as a potential career path. What do you think?
Teachers (this includes professors and every other field of teaching), nurses, health care workers in general, social workers...basically, if you are directly bettering someone's life, you deserve a raise.
