I was having a talk with my mother today and found out my great great great grandmother was white, I've spent the past hour looking for info on my ancestors and i've gotten as far back as the 1860s.
Things like this just fascinate me.
Have you ever researched your family's history and origins, and if so how far back did you go?
I've tried doing a family tree but never made it farther than three generations.
I HAVE gotten one of those 23&me kits which sequences parts of your genome and identifies your ancestry based on your haplogroups, though. Apparently I'm predominately Ashkenazi Jewish and Eastern European, but I also supposedly have about .1% Native American and Southern African ancestry, so please check your privilege.
