Introduced by mutual friends, Minogue was already familiar with the original Crave You, with vocalist Giselle, which was released four years ago.
“Someone put Crave You on a playlist for her a few years ago,” Gruzman said. “In the studio she said she’d sung it driving in the car so often she knew all the words already. That was a pretty surreal moment. We had grins on our faces all day after that.”
The duo originally recorded Minogue singing a new version of Crave You, which was going to replace the Giselle version on their album.
Instead they went with Minogue singing an acapella version as a final reprise.
Minogue also shot a video for her Crave You reprise to help promote the album in Australia and overseas, where the duo have a cult following.
