Cassie “Electro Love” album discussion
Well, this is a thread for updates and discussion about Cassie's second album "Electro Love".
Write what you want and post if you find out something new.
OVERALL INFO
- It was recorded since 2007.
- It was supposed to be released in 2008, but Cassie said that she wanted to make a little break to develop her vocals and a more mature sound, though it could be because of the underperformance of the first single, later referred to as a promo single.
- It’s expected to be released on June 23, 2009.
- Diddy announced that the album's title would be "Electro Love" which is taken from a song of the same name, which is confirmed to appear on the album.
- Previous album titles were “Conneticut Fever” and “In Your Dreams”.
- So far, she has worked with Pharrell Williams, Akon, Diddy and RedOne and said that her new album will demonstrate more independence, difference in vocals, more personality and sensuality.
- The cover has yet to be revealed.
FIRST SINGLE
Official Girl
- It was released as the first single on August 5, 2008, but was later revealed to be just a promo single.
- It was critically bad received and failed to chart.
- It had a music video, which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Videoclip Tracks.
Must Be Love
- It was released as the first official single on April 14, 2009.
- It was originally meant to be a track on the album of fellow Bad Boy recording artists Day26.
- Diddy describes the track as a "Bad Boy Classic".
- The video for the song will be shot Friday, May 8th, 2009.
- It entered the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at #94.
CONFIRMED TRACKS
- "Electro Love"
- "Must Be Love" (featuring Diddy)
- "Official Girl" (featuring Lil Wayne)
RECORDED TRACKS
- "Is It You"
- "Keep on Lovin' Me" (featuring The-Dream)
- "Let's Get Crazy" (featuring Akon)
- "My House"
- "Pretty Face"
- "Push It"
- "Sell It"
- "Thirsty"
I'm waiting to hear a better single, I'm not really felling "Must Be Love". The best single released so far was IMO "Is It You", but it was just a promo single for "Step Up".
