You can play instruments, and you can do every genre!” My favourite thing about my career past is that I had two Rascall Flatts cuts — country. So I couldn’t get in Rihanna camps because I had a country cut. But my dad was like, do every genre for me, can you do that? And I was like, yeah.
That was the hardest part of being signed, and being asked to describe the album. I’d ask the label, well, what would you say? And they’re like, well…
Bruno Mars did a whole pop album first, and they they let him do whatever he wanted. That’s why I’m very lucky that the label let me do all these crazy genres. They’re letting me produce my own Christmas song! It’s called I’ll Be Home, and I wrote it as a songwriter. I produced it myself and it’s simple, and when I showed it to the label, they’re like, “We’re down to keep this production.”

I swear some of the Navy forgets Rih's first #1 was from her second album, first Grammy from her 3rd album, first #1 album was her 7th album and 100M grossing tour from her 7th album
