Collaborating with her best friend and song producer Zac Poor, the Up! singer had 48 hours to write and record a song with the new Xperia Z3 mobile phone.
'The battery life lasts up to 48 hours which is pretty amazing if you have to think about how many times you’ve got to charge your phone,' the singer gushed about the new gadget.
'So we gave ourselves a challenge to write a song in the same amount of time.'
'Obviously you can't force creativity,' she reflected on the time pressures the duo faced.
'It's hard to sit down and go write a song. You know it's not like signing off paperwork.'
Admitting the task 'was a bit of a challenge', Samantha said the experience was still exhilarating to say the least.
'I work well under pressure and I like challenges so I was like, 'ok we can do this, we can beat it' and we ended up coming out on top,' she explained, adding the song's title Always And Forever was in fact inspired by the 'whole idea of the phone lasting so long.'
The ARIA award winner is also anticipating the release of her new single next month before she jets to Bali soon after to spend Christmas overseas with her family and best friend.
'We just signed off on the artwork for the new single so that’s really exciting,' she revealed, adding her entire new album is then set to be released in the first quarter of next year.
I can't believe she's FINALLY getting her album! I hope that all of the songs are amazing due to the wait... and I hope that Firestarter, Soldier and Up! are all still on the album, even if they're just bonus tracks.
I wonder if this (Always And Forever) or Never Tear Us Apart will be on the record? I doubt it... there's so many questions.

It sounds cute, but I'm annoyed I have to wait until next year for an album to come out.
And let's put it this way: I was 18 when she won the show, I will be 21 when her album comes out. A three year wait for your FOLLOW-UP album to winning is not cool.
The song will be out next month y'all, from then it's only a 2-3 month wait for the album, that's not too long!
Australia is surely still here for her. I just hope that she can take her career on a more global platform once her album drops... I'm hoping for 11-14 tracks, more after such a long wait would be great, but they should only use the absolute best.
I hope "Always and Forever" is a hit with the promotion by Sony products as well as her label! She should perform the song on Sunrise.
