I mean, it is impressive that he's using all these expensive things to film his videos (the shots of Hawaii are great.. for a promotional tourism video, perhaps), and I'm sure the quality of the video is amazing. But then again, who's gon' watch this on an IMAX Screen?
Let alone, TVs. Most people will YouTube the video, and in YouTube you can't really tell the difference between an IMAX video and a regular one.

Well, clearly no one outside of the owners of IMAX will be watching this on an IMAX screen. Unless they put this video on before IMAX movies, which they should!
However, it's like the feature on the The Dark Knight DVD's where you can see the scenes specifically shot with the IMAX camera, but obviously on your television. It, of course, doesn't have the same impact as it did while watching it on the big screen, but you can still see whether it is a 5' inch TV screen or much larger that there is a significant improvement in the quality of the shot. It's the exact same thing with this video. Even on a tiny iPod screen, you would be able to tell how nice the full-frame shots look.
There is no ****ing market for music videos anymore, and the fact that Hype did something different when most music video channels barely have video blocks anymore says that he still gives a ****.
You can't put this video on the same pedestal as "Vivrant Thing" or "Mo Money Mo Problems" or his Busta videos, because the budget isn't there anymore. The fact that labels still finance these things when they will mostly be seen on YouTube is, quite frankly, ridiculous.
This isn't the best video i've seen on a computer screen this year, but my argument is that you have to at least be impressed that Hype is sticking his neck out and still trying to do a Hype Williams video in 2009. Hype was given the song of "Amazin'" to make a video of, and he just shot it in one of the most beautiful places in the world, and with the most technical film cameras in the world. If that isn't Amazin' then I don't know what is.
