A Vietnamese man arrested for gay sex in Burundi has been released after paying a fine of 100,000 Burundian francs ($65).
He was the first person convicted under the African country's 2009 anti-gay law, which punishes 'sexual relations with a person of the same sex' with three months to two years in jail and a fine of 50,000 ($32) to 100,000 Burundian francs ($65).
The man was arrested after he was caught with a Burundian partner, who is still being sought by police.
