Europe isn't irrelevant. A random person on the street can name ten European countries and locate them on a map, but will be hard pressed to name ten African countries and map them.
People will find it easy to name 10 classical European artists, but can you name 10 classical Asian artists?
And don't forget, we still hold the European standard of beauty in high regard.
And I doubt China can, they have a huge cultural barrier that disallows them to dominate media like America has.
