Have you watched past significant others lose interest?
Over time have you ever witnessed a boyfriend/girlfriend of yours gradually lose interest in you and the relationship, leading it to end shortly afterwards?
I have not had a real relationship yet but i was just thinking about how horrible it must be to be in love with someone and one day watch them lose interest in you and eventually leave you. Its so scary that you give your all to that person and let them see the vulnerable and negative aspects of yourself and then one day they leave you.
Yeah.. but it was sorta a mutual thing. He lost interest and I tried getting it back and then I lost it and then he wanted it back again.. it was a hard decision but I think we made the right call in ending our relationship then. We had a good time and remember each other as friends and I am okay with that. Don't think I was ever in love with him (especially since I AM in love now and know how real that feels) but losing friends is always sad.
No, I've just been the other way around which is also awful when you don't want to hurt them but are so over it yourself. What I'd do different 2nd time around: not leave it to linger and depressingly decline over time, but to call it a day from the minute you're sure.
It was my first proper boyf and it lasted a few years, we're friends now - he just cannot keep it in his pants and now complains of his lonely existence.
