Poll: Are Marvel films overrated?

I like some Marvel films, but I feel (my very personal opinion) they're a little bit overrated.

Lately a Marvel Film = good critics + amazing profits
"The Avengers" is the 3rd Top Grossing Movie of all time.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is the top grossing movie (so far) in the US this year.
and there are many more examples ...

So that's my question...

Do you think Marvel Films (making a generalization) are overrated? or do you think they totally deserve the success?

No, people who feel they are overrated are just jealous because they're successful, had they been flops this wouldn't even be a topic of discussion

Marvel (Cinematic Universe, not overall) worked hard on these films and have mapped out an amazing series so far, they deserve all the success and praise they get

DISNEY Marvel films ("Avengers," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Iron Man 3," etc) are very overrated and generally terrible.
They are made for the lowest common denominator. Fox Marvel films ("X-Men: First Class") are 100 times better.

Duh. And that's why despite all the praise, they never win big awards. They are fun, well produced movies, no doubt about that. But nothing ever truly great. Very standard, predictable action flicks. People do too much with the fanfare

Agreed. But I don't think they are terrible. Just decent to good. Never shockingly bad, never incredible.

What other superhero movies have won big awards besides Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight? Last time I checked Christian Bale wasn't even nominated for a big reward when he played Batman

Only the first Ironman as well as a few from the Xmen series. Ironman 1 was total piss.

True. Tons of Internet fans are still pressed that The Dark Knight was ignored for Screenplay, Director, and Picture by the Academy (and the British Academy). And the Golden Globes only gave it one nom.

If any superhero film deserves any type of big award nominations it was The Dark Knight series, the Academy needs to wake up and realize that superhero films are here to stay and stop snubbing the
