If you actually read/watched Emma's speech, then you know that this campaign aims to help all genders to overcome society's gender roles and oppression. And not just in first world countries. Why else would Emma then address the UN? It's a global issue.
Emma explained that it's not just women who suffer from gender inequality. But men also. When men are able to be themselves without expectations of being aggressive, the head of household, etc, the natural consequence of it means that women can truly be free as well. Granted the hashtag is underwhelming and can be a bit misleading.
This is why I despise sites like ATRL. Even when a celebrity or organizations stand up for rights, ya'll like to tear it down with your pessimism.

Right. Yes, men are absolutely harmed by gender roles, yes, men are raped, yes, men sometimes lose custody of their children, but that's because of the patriarchy society (created by them, btw) we live in, which feminism actively fights. The social inequalities they suffer will vanish when women get the rights they have and everyone is treated as an equal. I completely and totally understand that, and again, it's a great mission statement. I'm not complaining about more feminist allies. I just don't like the re-branding of something made by women for women. To me, it just comes off as something being done to make men more comfortable.
