They both are about a couple of friends
That has their place (coffee& bar) where they are hanging out
and they both hilarious
But which one is better?

Friends, there's no competition. And I absolutely loved HIMYM but Friends is the best sitcom of all time.

How I Met Your Mother tried to be the new Friends.
Still a solid show, but It didn't work.

I think Friends. It was very consistent. My favourite season of Friends is season 9 (also loved 4 and 5), and there are other people who'd say it's season 2, etc.
