Miley has gone and done it again. The cover crazy chanteuse has taken a song we all know and love, flipped the script on it, and made it her own. Some of you may know this as Drake’s ‘Take Care’, but Miley has gone and taken the original version by Brook Benton and created something that’s unsurprisingly amazing.
Miley’s been teasing that she’s going back to her pop/rock roots with a psychedelic twist for a while now. Well, ever since the Bangerz Tour started, to be honest. I’m not that surprised. It’s clear as day that Miley’s voice fits this type of genre more than her urban-pop sound introduced on ‘Bangerz’. I mean, was ‘Bangerz’ even THAT authentic? It seems like it was just a great marketing ploy to finally shed her child star image once and for all. It worked and now that it worked, we can get back to the true artist in Miley.
I don’t mean to bash ‘Bangerz’. It was fine, it was solid. But, this just seems a lot more true to the Miley we know and love. The psychedelic thing she’s doing right now? Not crazy about it, but if she’s returning to the pop/rock world…I’ll tolerate it as much as I did with ‘Bangerz’. The great thing about Miley is she can tackle any genre really and sound amazing. If that isn’t a true artist, I don’t know what is!
I think what most people don't realise about Miley is that behind all of the scandalous twerking and whatnot, she's actually a very talented singer. All the controversy kind of diluted the public's perception of that, and it's a shame because she really does have a beautiful voice.

I'd be here for another pop rock record, as long as it is just as mature as her dance-pop record and her urban-pop record. Breakout was a good album for its time, but most of the songs don't have a lot of replay value when you hit a certain age, aside from The Driveway, Goodbye & Bottom of the Ocean.
