The first video is the announcement video and the second is actual English gameplay with the voice acting and everything. Type-0 HD is a remaster one short of a remake, seamlessly making a handheld game that came out only in Japan years ago come to life onto next-generation consoles. The director of this next game for the Fabula Nova Crystallis installment, Hideo Tabata, is also the director of the next mainline Final Fantasy game - Final Fantasy XV. He is also responsible for Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. A demo for Final Fantasy XV will be bundled with Type-0 HD's release.
Plot
Quote:
The game focuses on the stories of Class Zero, a group of twelve magic-endowed students from the Peristylium, a magical academy in the Dominion of Rubrum. One day, the Milites Empire launches an assault on the other nations of Orience, seeking to control their respective crystals. When Rubrum is attacked, Class Zero are called into action and become entangled in both the efforts to push back and defeat the forces of Milites, and the secret behind the war and the existence of the crystals. The setting and presentation was inspired by historical documentaries, and the story itself was written to be darker than other Final Fantasy titles.
Characters
Quote:
Final Fantasy Type-0 has a wide variety of characters. With a total of fourteen playable characters, the amount of possibilities are endless. Each character is highly complex, with separate stats, that are all customized by your choice. You can play as a few or you can play as all of them.
Detailed overviews of each character
Ace
Quote:
“Ace is calm on the surface, but at times his reckless side shows through. In Orience, where the dead are forgotten, he is still capable of sensing the raw emotions of the departed and mourns for them. He can sometimes be heard singing a simple song that Arecia once taught him.”
Deuce
Quote:
“A diligent worker who is gentle and honest. She is kind-hearted and good-natured towards everyone she meets. However, she can also have a stubborn side. Once she had made up her mind, there is no stopping her. She is straightforward to a fault.”
Trey
Quote:
“He is calm, well-disciplined, and always on his guard. He tries to be considerate and helpful to others, offering advice whenever possible. However, due to his wealth of knowledge and a tendency to rant, someone usually interrupts him before he can finish speaking.”
Cater
Quote:
“Cater is impulsive and has supreme confidence in herself. She has a straightforward personality and keeps nothing hidden from others, making her very easy to read. She gives her all no matter the situation, which can sometimes make her a sore loser if things don't go her way. Her special gun draws power from a magic crystal that she keeps in her backpack.”
Cinque
Quote:
“She is up when others are down and down when others are up, and no one quite knows what she will do next. Much to the surprise of her classmates, she sometimes makes shockingly astute observations, though she often does not realize it. She uses a heavy, clumsy mace under the logic that "If I'm gonna beat down bad guys, I've gotta have a real big weapon to do the job right!"”
Sice
Quote:
“She has a rough manner of speech, and does not mince words when she feels the need to point out someone else's shortcomings. She prefers to avoid conflicts, but if cornered she will fight as if her life depended on it.”
Seven
Quote:
“Though she looks out for her classmates, she seems flat and distant. She is good friends with the underclassmen girls, but most of the boys think she's rather unapproachable. She would rather fight than waste time talking about the available options. She is eager to help when asked and has a hard time saying no to others.”
Eight
Quote:
“Eight dislikes traditional killing weapons, instead relying on the power of his fists to accomplish the job. He usually controls his emotion when necessary, making him able to perform well under pressure by maintaining his cool in difficult situations. However, he does have the tendency to be a sore loser.”
Nine
Quote:
“Nine is well-known for being impulsive and rude. Everything is black or white for him. He prefers to act rather than think. Nine has a reputation for listening to his instincts and little else: to him, time spent thinking things over is time wasted, and someone should either do something to help the situation or get out of his way. Most people think he's careless because of this, but he rarely loses a fight.”
Jack
Quote:
“Jack is the most light-hearted member of Class 0. He always has a smile on his face, no matter the situation. In fact, it's easy to sometimes mistake his cheerful attitude for insincerity.”
Queen
Quote:
“She is a wise and intelligent young woman, and virtuous to a fault. Her motives are as straightforward as the sword she bears against her enemies.”
King
Quote:
“King is a person of few words, having a preference for taking action over spending time in conversation. His ability to think on his feet makes him an ideal candidate for situations that require quick decisions to be made. Everyone sees him as cool and perhaps slightly aloof, mostly due to how little he speaks. Because of this, his kindness can be easily overlooked.”
Machina Kunagiri
Quote:
“A new addition to Class 0 and Rem's childhood friend. One of the most skilled combatants in the Academy. He is always striving to improve himself, both in the arena and in the lecture hall. His sense of self-motivation is often mistaken by others as being distant.”
Rem Tokimya
Quote:
“Rem recently joined Class 0. She is Machina's childhood friend. A girl with a kind heart and pure morals. She is a poor liar. She actually thinks she is good at lying, but she never fools her friends. When she was in Class 7, her grades were better than Machina's.”
I remember waiting for this game to come out for the PSP and it never did (at least the english version) And now it's getting released for PS4?! FML
Apparently a PSP port was almost completely finished.. but by the time they were done, the PSP was completely dead in the United States and the Vita flopped almost on launch date. It looks like they have been working on this title for some time now.
So it's basically a beta for how people receive FFXV?
One could say that. How else are you gonna market an audience to play a game that has been out for years? At least it will slay though, Crisis Core was a pretty good game. Love the cast lineup.
I played and finished the japaneae version years ago. Good story and the ending is not what you will expect.
Didn't know that sis! Are you excited for this remaster then? I feel like its some of the best work I've ever seen from a remaster. I've always loved the music score to this game too!

Yup. Crisis Core stays being the highest selling mobile Final Fantasy game with good reason.
