Could Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez really help colleges recruit athletes?
That's what Wake Forest University hoped for after they sent photoshopped People magazine covers to a pair of three-star recruits deciding on the perfect school.
Football stud Kengera Daniel graced the cover of one issue next to the one and only Mrs. Kanye West. Titled "KimGera" in ode to Kimye, the athlete is photoshopped putting his arm around the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star.
Not to be outdone, Marcus Marshall also got the star treatment when he was photoshopped next to the talented Selena Gomez.
"The new Mrs. Marshall," the cover reads. "Pop culture's newest power couple." Marshall later posted the photo on Twitter with the simple caption, "I wish."
Tennessee Volunteers Football from the University of Tennessee sent five-star prospect Shy Turtle a fake Rolling Stone cover with the athlete standing next to Beyoncé.
"Beyoncé on why she thinks Turtle belongs at Tennessee" the headline reads surrounding a giant, packed stadium.
So will this clever and unique recruiting method result in a touchdown for the schools? For now, the athletes continue to analyze all their options before making a final decision.
