-Lesbian couples are permitted to have children through artificial insemination. The record is that such couples provide loving homes and raise well-balanced children.

-Barring gay men and lesbians from becoming 'parents' is discrimination, based on sexual orientation, which would not be acceptable in other contexts such as employment.

-There is a shortage of adoptive parents. The 'family', whether gay or straight, is better than the foster-care system.

A gay/lesbian couple adopting a child has no affect on you as a person or your social life. If you're offended by it, then that's something you need to take up personally with yourself, rather than spew bigotry.

Two loving and caring parents, regardless of gender, are better than none at all.

I love it. If I ever got pregnant and I couldn't care for the child I would definitely give the child up to a gay couple. Gay couples adopting means that there are more homes for children that need them and that more children will grow up with non-bigoted views because of their parenting situation.

If heterosexuals can do it, then homosexuals can do it.

Yeah, no. I doubt an orphan would give up a loving home because it's not the norm of a mom and dad. Kids aren't naturally hateful. That trait is learned, for the most part.

How old kids are we talking about anyways? I dunno 'cos these kids could be subjected to bullying or become resentful. In my opinion the discussion should be all about the kids' views and not about the adoptees.

I'm not gay and I was talking about when I was a kid, no one's adopting a grown-ass man.

This is ****ing stupid. An orphan won't pass up a home and a family that will love them just because there's two dads or moms.

im open to adoption . i just fear that my child will be teased daily in school when they grow older.

I support it, but I personally wouldn't do it. I'm gay, but the idea of two men raising a kid together is still a bit weird to me. Idk, I can't imagine not having a mom

I do think adoption is better than surrogacy though.
