Even though "Animals" hasn't peaked yet on the Hot 100 and "Maps" is in the top 10 on the Hot 100 currently, Maroon 5 has already planned a third single from their fifth studio album, V. According to Mickey Madden and Jesse Carmichael of Maroon 5, they are preparing to film a video for "Sugar" after completing work on the video for "Animals":

We just did [a video] for Animals... gonna be a crazy one... Then Sugar coming up after that... looking forward to that.
I like the song, but I've said it from the beginning.... If they release it as a single and more people are aware of it, the "Birthday" comparisons are going to be crazy. Katy may even sue them if she thinks it's too similar. Plus, there are so many better single choices from that album... "It Was Always You" and "Leaving California" NEED to get released.
I like this song a lot but it's really similar to Birthday by Katy. If Katy didn't smash with it, I don't think that Maroon 5 will.
Oh well, I hope the music video is good! Radio likes M5 a lot so maybe it'll pull through. It's slightly less safe & generic sounding compared to Birthday so that's a plus for them.
