Welp, Bethany Mota, slay I guess.

No, they're stars because millions of people who perch for their content on youtube. Why do you have to have the backing of some company to be a star? Why can't people with self made content be considered stars?

Why can't YouTubers be celebrities too? Most of them are popular because of their talent, whether is it in music, comedy, whatever. And the fact that they capture millions of fans out there, shows that they do have the celebrity power.
This ain't the 1920s anymore. Celebrities are changing.

This tbh. Some members' on this forum have such an elitist opinion of Youtubers for what? If anything, Youtubers are some of the most authentic quantifiable benchmarks for the entertainment industry. They build their fanbases from the ground up, using only their talent and the help of other youtubers (no record label, no management, etc).
Let's not even get started on the "pretty face" argument bc most celebs can attribute at least part of their fame to their good looks. Most youtubers aren't even that attractive tbh.
